Aspiring Filmmaker | Content Creator

I’m Rochak Basnet, a senior Media and Entertainment Arts (Video Arts) major at the University of Southern Mississippi, passionate about cinematic filmmaking and narrative visual storytelling. I currently work as a Video Specialist for the Rural Digital Forensics Initiative (RDFI), while also creating, producing, and hosting the student-led podcast College or Whatever.
Previously, I interned as a Content Creation Associate at illumibot, a projection mapping company, where I developed visual content and marketing campaigns. My background also includes serving as Creative Director for Southern Miss Student Media, working as a Communications Specialist at the Center for Entrepreneurship, contributing as a photographer/videographer for the Roy Howard Community Journalism Center, and serving as an Assistant Producer/Technical Director for Southern Miss Television. Through producing shows like Beyond Borders, directing broadcasts for Hub City Gameday, and directing independent short films like Two Sides, I’ve honed my skills in directing, cinematography, multitrack post-production, and collaborative creative direction.
Outside the studio, I share digital content, vlogs, and creative projects on YouTube while exploring bold, story-driven production formats. I’m driven by the goal of crafting meaningful media and pursuing opportunities in the film, TV, and entertainment industry that allow me to push creative boundaries, inspire audiences, and create lasting impact.
